Editorial Policy
Our advice articles and service pages are there to help you understand your heating and stay safe. This is how we write and look after them.

Who writes our advice
Every article is written or reviewed by Mohammed Miah, a Gas Safe registered heating engineer who qualified in 2019, before it is published. The author is named on each article.
How we check it
- Advice is based on our day-to-day work on boilers and heating systems, and on official guidance such as the Gas Safe Register, the Health and Safety Executive and manufacturers' instructions.
- Where an article relies on outside information, we link to the source.
- Prices quoted on the site come from our current price list and are updated when it changes.
- We don't accept payment for recommending products or brands, and we don't use affiliate links.
Safety first
Our articles are general guidance, not a substitute for an inspection. We will never tell you to carry out gas work yourself: by law it must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer. If you smell gas or suspect carbon monoxide, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.
Keeping it up to date
Each article shows when it was published. We review our advice when regulations, guidance or our prices change, and update the date when we do.
