Gas Questions, Answered
What should I do if I smell gas?
Turn off the gas supply at the meter if it's safe to do so, open windows and doors, don't use any electrical switches or naked flames, and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. Once it's safe, call us to investigate and fix the cause.
How often do I need a landlord gas safety certificate?
Every 12 months for each rental property with a gas appliance, pipework or flue. We're Gas Safe registered and can carry out the check and issue the certificate on the same visit.
Can I install my own gas cooker or hob?
No, by law, gas appliance installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer. We'll fit and safety-check the appliance and register the work.
What's involved in a gas safety check?
We inspect each gas appliance, pipework and flue for leaks, correct ventilation and safe operation, then issue a certificate confirming everything meets current safety standards.
How much does gas work cost?
Most gas work is charged at our standard hourly rate, from £90, a landlord gas safety certificate is also from £90. We'll always confirm a clear price before starting.
